Amazing.

Lions are seriously misunderstood creatures. They're just big cats. I'm not saying that if you give them a bit of cat nip and a belly rub they won't tear you to shreds, but y'know.

Their aggression usually come from feeling threatened, which is why you might see them have a go at a truck load of tourists wearing khaki clothing on a safari.

Take these two lionesses, for example. Meg and Amy were rescued as cubs and raised by Kevin Richardson, and even now when they're fully grown they have a bond that you might struggle to have with a normal pet.

In a clip released by GoPro, the bond between them has been captured, showing the two jungle cats playing and rolling about with Kevin.

"Meg and Amy are kind of my soulmates, they're kind of like humans - you can meet many many people in your life, but there's very few that you connect wholeheartedly with," Kevin said.

"I firmly believe that if I never had got Meg and Amy back then they would have ended up in some shape or form in the lion hunting market.

"Definitely, in my mind, they were destined for a bullet."

It's not so rare for lions to be so close to their first adoptive owners, as many videos across the internet show.

Here, Kiara the lion is reunited with the man who was her 'first dad' and she's very pleased to see him, even after years of separation.

She instantly recognises him, seemingly weeping at the sight of him.

As soon as the gate is opened Kiara leaps up at Adolfo taking him to ground with pure passion, having a play with him.

She doesn't want to see him go as they're clearly best mates.
