Did you need any more evidence that dogs are the greatest thing on the planet? No, you didn't, but you're going to get some anyway.
We all wish man's best friend could use phones just so that when we're away we can still speak to them. Yolanda the Golden Retriever can use phones, but not just for chit-chat. She used it to save her owner's life.
The guide dog's 60-year-old blind owner had to rely on Yolanda to call 911 on a specialised device when her home in Philadelphia caught fire, and she was then pulled to safety by her trusty canine.

When emergency services arrived at the burning building, the owner was treated for smoke inhalation at a nearby hospital.
As a reward, Yolanda was given treats and toys, according to Red Paw Emergency Relief Team's Facebook page, and hopefully she was allowed all the belly rubs she deserves.
This is actually the third time the heroic pooch has been called into action, having chased burglars away from her home in 2013, calling police in the process, and ringing 911 last year when her owner tripped over and fell unconscious.
What a pet!
