A shocking video showing the moment a lion cub pounced on a child during a live TV show has surfaced on the Internet.
The video shows the lion cub getting her claws into the child before getting into a tug-of-war battle between with the child's mother who is backed - albeit feebly - by the presenter.

In true 'the show must go on' fashion - and despite the frightening thought of her child becoming early supper for the lion - the mother remains surprisingly calm and manages to keep her TV-worthy smile for the cameras. Meanwhile, the lion tamer gently massages the cub's locked mouth. Even the kid seems pretty chill about it!
Although the child is not seen to be injured, the lion has a good hold on the young girl's trouser leg and is just inches from doing some serious damage.

The footage is alleged to date back to 2003 and is from a Mexican show called Con Sello De Mujer, which translates as 'We Are Crazy Motherfuckers' and stopped broadcasting in 2007.
Luckily for this lion, though, the incident didn't happen in 2016.
