Someone Strapped A GoPro To A Fox-Hunting Eagle

Someone Strapped A GoPro To A Fox-Hunting Eagle

Imagine this bugger chasing you.

Is there any point in owning an eagle if you're not going to attach a GoPro to it? This is a question I ask myself often, and I always come to the same conclusion: nah.

The people at GoPro have also asked themselves this question and come to the same conclusion, by the looks of things.

In the clip, filmed by GoPro for its Eagle Hunters in a New World video, a golden eagle is seen hunting foxes with the Burkitshi in eastern Mongolia.

The men, who are on horseback with rifles, are believed to be hunting the foxes for food.

In the clip, one of the hunters is seen dropping rocks to frighten the fox out of its hiding place, before the eagle is released to give chase. Surprise surprise, it manages to catch up to with ease.

If you don't like seeing animals get ripped to shreds, then don't worry, because we're spared the grisly bit.

Instead we get a close-up of the eagle looking pretty pleased with itself.

This isn't the first time a GoPro has given us a cool insight into animal behaviour. A young male lion made his directorial debut using a GoPro he found, which had been left behind by a film crew.

The lion picks it up in his jaws before taking it on a spin around the Great Kruger National Park in South Africa.

After his walk, he drops it and has a little breather. Film-making is harder than it looks.

Two other lions then appear. It's hard to tell if that is the same young lion who regains the camera or if it was taken by another little guy who felt like having a go at documentary-making.

The clip ends with one of the lions licking the device. Despite the fact it ended up with a whole fucking pride of lions, the owner of the camera got it back.

Professional guide and wildlife expert, Christof Schoeman, who lives close to the park and owned the GoPro, described the video as 'awesome'. And I have to agree.
