Straight off the bat, I'm going to get to the point: Fuck spiders. They're unnecessarily freaky-looking and have the ability to genuinely scare people out of a room.
Thankfully, in Britain, we don't have that much to worry about. They look scary, but the majority of them are harmless and pretty pathetic, to be quite honest.
In the US, things get a little more dangerous, but going even further, over to our friends Down Under, there are arachnids so big that they make your balls shrink and retreat right inside your body.
Take this mad bastard, for example. Melanie Jade Ottaway found him at her home in Beerwah, Queensland, Australia as she was prepared to tuck into her Sunday dinner.
She and her partner, Tony, soon realised that they had an unwanted dinner guest in the form of a huge huntsman spider who was settling into a main course of a gecko.

It reminds me of Frodo running through Shelob's lair on Return of the King. The only difference being that the poor lizard ain't got his own Samwise Gamgee coming to save him. I guess not everyone is as lucky as Mr Frodo.
