Anyone else feel like getting their walking boots out now?

There's nothing like seeing someone who's been on some kind of epic adventure to make you feel like a complete and utter sack of shit for sitting in your room, binge watching Netflix all day and shovelling crisps into your face.

With that firmly in mind, meet Mac. He is a free-spirited adventure junkie who quit his job, upped and left civilisation behind, and spends his spare time condensing his travels down into bite-sized YouTube videos.

In this incredible clip, Mac shares his journey along the entirety on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) and he did it by shooting one small segment from each day to cram it into three minutes.

The PCT is a 2,663-mile-long trail running from the United States border with Mexico to the U.S. border with Canada. Let's not beat about the bush, the scenery is nothing short of fucking spectacular.

The trail is supposed to take experienced hikers around five to eight months to complete, but somehow Mac managed it in just four-and-a-half.

The young adventurer explains on his blog what made him give up his old life and start adventuring.

"After spending the last year of my education living abroad, working at a desk was a less than thrilling prospect (but hey, that's what you're 'supposed' to do, right?)," he wrote.

"It took six months of living the good life of earning someone else's living nine-five every day for me to finally realise that what you grow up thinking you are supposed to do and what you can actually do are two entirely different things."

That's when he decided he wanted more from his life, moved and began exploring.

"The story of how I decided to hike the PCT begins in a bar (like most good stories), in a place called Fire Island," Mac explained.

He goes on to tell the story of how he met a 53-year-old friend of his dad who was in the midst of planning a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail.

"I immediately want to do this," he said.

"A few weeks later, and back in California, I begin researching the Appalachian Trail and 'how to thru-hike'.

"However, early in my research something unexpected happens - I come across the Pacific Crest Trail.

"I will spend the next six months tirelessly planning my thru-hike (a waste of time) and gearing up for what will be perhaps the most meaningful (or nonsensical) walk of my life.

"All this because I had a chance encounter with a stranger in New Hampshire."

Other videos on Mac's YouTube channel include condensed travels across Australia and the Continental Divide Trail.

There's also this video of Mac doing the highest bungee jump in the world at Macau Tower.

Anyone else feeling like digging out their walking boots, or is it just me?
