Serena Williams has confirmed that she's 20 weeks pregnant - meaning that she won the Australian Open while with child.

Fair fucking play to her.

The 35-year-old took to Snapchat to show off her stomach with the caption: '20 weeks'.

Serena quickly deleted the picture, however as we all know, anything a celebrity puts on the Internet is screenshotted almost immediately. Her representative later confirmed the pregnancy.

She's engaged to one of the guys who founded Reddit - Alexis Ohanian - and they've been together since around 2015. They got engaged in December last year.

Serena shared the news via Reddit. Why the hell not, ay?!

In a post, which she titled: 'I said yes', she wrote: "I came home / A little late / Someone had a bag packed for me

"And a carriage awaited / Destination: Rome

"To escort me to my very own "charming" / Back to where our stars first collided.

"And now it was full circle / At the same table we first met by chance

"This time he made it not by chance / But by choice

"Down on one knee / He said 4 words / And I said yes."

She's going to return to world number one next week, however she is probably going to miss the rest of the tennis season (including Wimbledon). However she would be eligible to retain her ranking under the WTA special ranking rule if she is ready to play her first tournament within a year of giving birth.

Her fans have taken to Twitter to congratulate Serena and also communicate how impressed they are that she managed to win the Australian Open while pregnant.

Congratulations to Serena and Alexis.
