Six-Hour Days Could Become Reality And We Have No Idea What To Think

Six-Hour Days Could Become Reality And We Have No Idea What To Think

Could you do a day’s work in six hours?

I don't know about you, but there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day get all of my work done and then enjoy a social life after-hours.

Well, luckily for me, we just may be about to be spared a few hours as experts claim working a six-hour day would increase productivity, the Mirror reports.

The aim is to get more done in shorter period of time, thus freeing up time (and energy) for what really matters in life, post-work beers.

It's not a new thing. Toyota centres in Gothenburg made the transfer 13 years ago and employees have since reaped the benefits. Meanwhile, their employers are experiencing happier staff, lower turnover rate and an increase in profits in the period.

Filimundus introduced the concept last year, reports the Birmingham Mail.

"The eight-hour work day is not as effective as one would think," said the Company's CEO, Linus Feldt. "To stay focused on a specific work task for eight hours is a huge challenge. In order to cope, we mix in things and pauses to make the work day more endurable. At the same time, we are having it hard to manage our private life outside of work."

I have my reservations. I mean, would I still get a lunch break, which would reduce the time at my desk further to sit a mere five hours in the office each day?

If so, we have a deal. If not, you can take your six hours and put it where the sun doesn't shine - and I don't mean our attic office.
