Someone Placed A Giant Boob In London To Make A Point About Breastfeeding

Amazing.

Breastfeeding in public is still, for some reason, frowned upon. I don't fucking get it. It's the most normal thing in the world. It's natural. Why is this such a problem?

Well, it turns out that some people don't quite understand that mums don't really fancy sitting in the toilets surrounded by the smells of people's recently abandoned shits when their baby needs feeding. They also can't always get home in time. In fact, sometimes they'll sit there, breasts leaking, baby crying their eyes out, desperate for feeding... just because they don't want to offend you.

Sometimes, it comes to the point where they can't take it anymore, people are staring because their child is screaming and they finally decide to let their child latch on. They're relieved, the baby stops crying... and then some busybody comes over and tells them they're 'disgusting' or 'should be ashamed'.

We've seen these stories time and time again, when are people going to get over it?

Believe it or not, breastfeeding isn't a sexual thing. So, if you can't handle seeing a baby latching onto their mother's breast, there's probably something indecent about you. Don't make it weird.

Mother London, an agency based in England's capital, recently decided to make a point about breastfeeding.

The agency placed a giant, inflatable boob on top of its HQ in Shoreditch. It ran the hashtag #FreeTheFeed alongside the campaign, which ties in nicely with the free-the-nipple movement.

The 'free-the-nipple' movement is a gender equality campaign which was created in 2012, after Lina Esco started filming the 2014 film Free the Nipple. The campaign argues that women should be allowed to show their nipples in public. So, you know like how you can't have women's nipples on Instagram? Yeah, shit like that.

Mother London said: "This was our Mother's Day project. A celebration of every woman's right to decide how and where they feed their children without feeling guilty or embarrassed about their parenting choices."

Fair bloody play to them.

What do you reckon? Good celebration of women's rights to breastfeed in public or not? Let us know in the comments.
