Christopher 'Big Black' Boykin Has Died At The Age Of 45

The cause of death is believed to be a heart attack.

Singer and TV star Christopher Boykin has died at the age of 45.

He was known more commonly as 'Big Black' and starred alongside Rob Dyrdek in hit MTV reality show Rob & Big, which followed the lives of the two best friends. Boykin was also Dyrdek's bodyguard.

A representative for Boykin confirmed that the entertainer died on Tuesday.

Boykin's ex-wife, Shannon, shared the news on his official account.

Fans replied to the Tweet with heartfelt messages.



Rob Dyrdek took to Twitter to share his feelings regarding the tragic news. He wrote: "My heart is broken. I don't want write this post. I don't want to believe that this is reality. I am so thankful for you.

"We truly were brothers that lived an unexpected unforgettable adventure. I just can't fathom that it would end so suddenly.

"You will forever be in my heart."

He also shared a few pictures. The first showed the pair messing about and having fun, while the second depicted when Boykin met Dyrdek's child.

Rob & Big premiered in 2006 and ran for three seasons, before Dyrdek moved out of their shared home when he had a child.

Dyrdek ran another two shows, Fantasy Factory and Ridiculousness - Boykin starred in episodes of both shows.

Boykin is survived by his nine-year-old daughter, Isis.
