Conor McGregor's long-time girlfriend Dee Devlin has given birth to a boy.

Conor Jack McGregor Jr. was born at 8lb 14oz at the Coombe Maternity Hospital in Dublin on Friday night.

McGregor first announced Devlin was pregnant during a Q&A at Event City in Manchester in late January.

"The only time my records are going to be broken is by him," he said.

"I'm going to train this child. I hope when it comes down to it I can settle down when I have a child.

"I hope I can man up and be a father."

Devlin has stuck with McGregor through every imaginable up and down.

"My girlfriend worked very hard throughout the years and stuck by me when I had essentially nothing," he told the Irish Mirror.

"For me to be able to take her out of work, give her everything she's ever wanted and to travel the world, fills me with pride."

McGregor was asked at the time whether his child would be called Jr. "Fuck off," the MMA fighter replied.

He also turned down a major role in the upcoming The Predator movie because filming was taking place around Devlin's due date.

"There have been a lot of offers. They wanted me to be the main guy, to fight Predator," he said at the time.

"So I asked how much and the answer was, 'not enough'.

"We talked and the number went up but it would mean eight weeks filming in Toronto. It was also around the time Dee is due."

He also turned down an appearance at WrestleMania 33 last month for similar reasons.

It is not known when McGregor's next venture into the octagon will be and, judging by recent news, he could be stepping into the ring with Floyd Mayweather.

Rumours have been rife, but nothing has been confirmed as yet.

Despite no deal being officially signed, Mayweather remains optimistic about the prospect of an inter-sport showdown.

"Most likely the fight between me and Conor McGregor will happen," he told Sky Sports. "That's the only fight that will get me back in the ring.

"He's going to do a job on his side and we are going to do a job on my side and hopefully all the fans in the UK come over and support me.

"I don't know (when it will be), I need to communicate with my team. The fight hasn't been made yet but it is all about entertainment so hopefully we can make it happen."
