Many and various are the social media posts from post-election celebrities lamenting the victory of Donald Trump on Tuesday night. Lady Gaga staged a protest outside Trump Tower, Miley Cyrus filmed herself crying and now our own Emma Watson has given her two cents.
In a tweet posted Wednesday night, the Harry Potter actress wrote: "Today I am going to deliver Maya Angelou books to the New York subway. Then I am going to fight even harder for all the things I believe in."
It comes as a collaboration with feminist book club Our Shared Self and Books on the Underground. Watson previously rambled around the London Underground hiding copies of Maya Angelou's Mom & Me & Mom.
Now I happen to be of the left persuasion, but this sort of thing even does my nut in. If Democrats or liberals want to make any change, it is not going to come through this kind of dick-wagging, self-centred, symbolism.

Go out there, sure, but talk to people, engage, have a bit of conflict. Don't hide hardbacks on the subway in New York. Preaching to the choir, mate.
Then again, what do I know.
