Johnny Depp's Former Business Management Reveal Star's Spending Habits

Johnny Depp's Former Business Management Reveal Star's Spending Habits

Turns out he's not very good with money

Hollywood legend Johnny Depp has found himself in a bit of a predicament with his former management company lately and as a result, it has come to light that he is even shitter with money than me; a man who once purchased three pairs of trainers in a week instead of buying food.

It makes me feel a bit better about myself to learn that someone as big a Johnny Depp is more of a financial dickhead than myself, in a sort of perverse, self-righteous kind of way.

I mean, this guy has really been going to town. According to figures released by The Management Group in February, Depp was spending around $2 million (£1,541,000) a month.

And that wasn't just paying the gas bill and buying dog food either; that was furnishing 14 residencies and paying for Hunter S. Thompson's ashes to be fired out of a cannon. It's probably fair to call those 'unnecessary luxuries'.

But now it turns out that Depp's former business managers aren't done revealing details of his lavish expenses, and have now disclosed even more heavy spending habits.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Depp spent $500,000 in storage rental for Hollywood trinkets, $17,000 in Prada luggage and handbags and $7,000 dollars on a luxury couch that was featured on the reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

"After terminating TMG in mid-March 2016, Depp continued to make the minimum payments on the CNB Visa card for a time, but then refused to pay anything further, forcing TMG to pay off the approximately $55,000 that was still owing on the CNB Visa card," TMG attorney Michael Kump wrote in the complaint.

"All charges on the CNB Visa card are undisputedly charges that were incurred on Depp's behalf similar to, and/or including, the exemplar purchases discussed above. Depp knows all of these expenses were incurred by and/or on his behalf, but simply refuses to pay his debts."

It's all part of a cross-complaint filed by TMG, who claim Depp's outrageous spending is the reason for his shady financial circumstances of late.

However, Depp has long claimed that he has been the victim of "gross financial mismanagement", and that his former business managers should have made more of an active effort to put a lid on his excessive spending.

Despite having had his sofa feature in the Kardashians, Depp has previously slammed reality TV shows.

"People get famous now for I-don't-know-what," Depp told Interview Magazine in 2014.

"People have reality shows because they're a Hollywood socialite, and these things become very successful and they generate a shotload of money for the company... It is like watching a fire. You can't take your eyes off of it."
