'Game Of Thrones' And 'Porridge' Actor Peter Vaughan Has Died

He starred alongside Frank Sinatra and Meryl Streep over his 75-year career.

Actor Peter Vaughan has sadly died at the age of 93, according to his agent.

The versatile actor played Aemon Targaryen (Maester of the Night's Watch) in Game of Thrones and Grouty (Harry Grout) in Porridge, among many other appearances.

Over his 75-year career, he starred alongside massive names such as Frank Sinatra, Meryl Streep and Jeremy Irons.

He once played Anthony Hopkins' father in The Remains of the Day, a film that was nominated for eight academy awards.

His career in film and TV spanned over 75 years. He also worked extensively in the theatre.

After winning a whole new host of fans through his role in Game of Thrones, it's safe to say that he'll be greatly missed by people of all ages.
