Kanye West Lives In Fear Of His Life, According To His Stepbrother

"He's mentally exhausted."

Kanye West is terrified of being attacked in the same vein as his wife, Kim Kardashian, and that has led to his hospitalisation with nervous exhaustion, according to his stepbrother.

Hal Carmichael, whose mum, Cheryl, was married to Kanye's dad, Ray, thinks that the robbery Kim fell victim to in Paris, France earlier this year plays on her husband's mind.

He told The Sun that the rapper 'is tired, he's hurt, he feels betrayed and he's probably feeling depressed'.

He added: "No one thought Paris would happen in a million years and now he's seen it happen to Kim, it's traumatising.

"It's like who can he trust? You can't trust anyone, even the people you've been paying to protect you. They haven't been doing their jobs correctly.

"I think Kanye got to a point when he was fearing for his life and for his family's safety because of what went down in Paris - I think it took a toll on him."

Hal added: "It was so shocking when I found out he was in hospital but I knew in my stomach why - he's mentally exhausted because he works so hard.

"Since he started out in the business he has never taken a break, or stopped working. He's lost it right now because he's only human."

Hal lives in San Antonio, Texas, and although he hasn't seen the family since 2014, remains close.

He isn't deterred by the news, however, that his stepbrother is going through a difficult time.

"He's [Kanye] a strong man. His dad is still here, he has his wife and two kids to think about. Kanye would never do anything to himself that might affect the people he loves."
