That's his 15 minutes, then.

Remember the American Pie films, and their characters? In particular, 'The Shermanator'? Sure you do.

The "sophisticated sex robot" was the cliche 90s geek, literally warts and all, who got his nickname due to his obsession with the Terminator films.

17 years has passed since the first film, though, and guess what? Things have changed for actor Chris Owen.

The 35-year-old has since retired the spiky hair and gained a groomed beard.

Professionally, though, things aren't quite as tidy. In 2013 it was reported that he was moonlighting as a waiter in Los Angeles at sushi restaurant, Sushi Roku

"It was kind of funny watching The Sherminator serve at a sushi restaurant," an eyewitness told Radar at the time.

"It was also sort of sad to see how quickly and easily an actor can fall from fame. No one in the restaurant even seemed to recognize him."

Besides the American Pie films, Owen also appeared in numerous National Lampoon films like Van Wilder, Gold Diggers, Dorm Daze and Dorm Daze 2.

Apparently, that banter back-catalogue isn't enough to grow a social media following. Owen has only 94 followers on Twitter and 265 on Instagram.

Even I have more than that.
