These two are hilarious.

Ryan Reynolds has always been a comedic actor but he absolutely came into his own in the Marvel hit Deadpool.

Not only is he good on the screen - he's also savage on social media. Whether it's describing life as a dad or trying to calm down really horny fans, Ryan always knows how to find the funny side.

So you can imagine my delight when I saw he's teamed up with Samuel L Jackson for a new movie, The Hitman's Bodyguard.

It looks motherfucking epic...

SLJ is not only responsible for one of the most iconic monologues in movie history with Pulp Fiction, but he has probably said the word 'motherfucker' on screen more than any other actor.

Reynolds plays a 'triple-A rated executive protection agent', while Jackson is 'the most wanted hitman in the world'.

Jackson is set to testify at the International Court of Justice and Reynolds has been called in to make sure SLJ gets him there safe.

The film also stars Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight, Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy) and Selma Hayek (Frida, Savages).

On top of all that, the action scenes look good and they've added in Whitney Houston's classic I Will Always Love You in homage to her movie, The Bodyguard, with Kevin Costner.

Reynolds and SLJ look like they pair very well together and even take turns in dropping the 'motherfucker' bomb.

Considering the movie is directed by Australian Patrick Hughes, whose last movie was the Expendables 3, you know it's going to be packed with explosions, explosions and more explosions.

Fans took to Twitter to show they are keen as fuck to see the film.

The movie hit cinemas in the US and UK on 18th August this year.

It'll be interesting to see whether the Jackson/Reynolds duo works as a buddy comedy. This sub-genre has had varying degrees of success through the years.

Take the old school classics like Bad Boys starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, or Lethal Weapon with Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. Both had the perfect mix of comedy and action.

But putting together two actors who can do comedy doesn't always equal a hit buddy comedy.

2010's Cop Out starring Bruce Willis and Tracey Morgan was a cliche and only reached a 19 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Or take Get Hard with Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart, two actors which are known for their comedy, couldn't break through without genuinely funny gags or a decent storyline.

It pays to have a solid plot where the actors can utilise the best bits and turn it into comedy gold.

The best examples of that in recent years are the Rush Hour franchise with Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan, or the 2012 hit 21 Jump Street which scored an impressive 85 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

With The Hitman's Bodyguard, I hope they don't rely solely on motherfucker jokes and that Samuel and Ryan produce some magic.
