Jeremy Clarkson has been rushed to hospital with severe pneumonia while on holiday in Mallorca.

The presenter is currently receiving treatment in hospital, reports the Daily Mail.

The 57-year-old posted an image yesterday with a drip attached in his arm along with hospital wrist bands.

The former Top Gear host captioned the image: "Not the sort of bangles I usually choose on holiday."

He also tweeted his friend Jemima Goldsmith, saying that he was currently 'in a wheelchair, connected up to tubes, in a hospital'.

A spokeswoman for The Grand Tour said told The Sun: "Jeremy Clarkson was admitted to hospital on Friday morning during a family holiday in Spain, and is being treated for pneumonia."

A source reportedly close to Clarkson told The Sun: "He's told friends not to expect to hear too much from him over the next few weeks which is very unlike him, and obviously his family are concerned.

"Inevitably people close to him are saying it's time to think about the way he looks after himself - cutting back on the booze and fags - but he's never been one to take that sort of guidance on board."

Just two weeks ago, at the beginning of his Mallorca trip, Clarkson posted a series of tweets indicating that he was enjoying his holiday with pictures of him 'dabbing' on the island.

Last month, Clarkson said the series schedule for Grand Tour had been seriously affected following Richard Hammond's horrific crash.

He said: "As I write, James May is sitting in the hell hole that is Gatwick Airport waiting for a budget airline to take him to a shoot that Hammond should have been doing.

"Meanwhile, I've been up since dawn, rewriting all of the scripts and ideas we had to accommodate the fact that Hammond can't drive for the next few months. Meanwhile, he is lying in a bed in the Swiss Alps, while pretty nurses attend to his every need, and give him drugs."
