Disney has confirmed it's going to 'reimagine' 1994 classic The Lion King following the huge success of The Jungle Book remake which has so far brought in a box office of $965.8 million. That's $965.8 fucking million.

No wonder they're going along with this. Stuff it, reimagine Frozen while you're at it. Who cares about time or conservatism? There's basically a billion pounds to be made off this.

The release read: "The Lion King builds on Disney's success of reimagining its classics for a contemporary audience with films like Maleficent, Cinderella, and the upcoming Beauty and the Beast."

The Lion King, like the Beauty and the Beast remake - which stars Emma Watson - will include songs from the animated original.

Iron Man director and the guy who played Monica's billionaire boyfriend in Friends, Jon Favreau, will direct.

The Lion King, first released in 1994, went on to become one of the most-successful animated films of all time, grossing $968.8 million worldwide. $3 million more than The Jungle Book.

It even bagged Oscars for Best Original Song 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight' by Elton John and Best Original Score for Hanz Zimmer. The soundtrack sold over 14 million copies.

The 1997 stage production of the film went on to become one of Broadway's most successful shows, bagging six Tony Awards.

James Earl Jones (aka Darth Vader), has agreed to come back and reprise his role of Mufasa.

Who am I kidding, The Lion King was one of my first cinema experiences. Bring the fucker back!

When I say 'Lion', you say 'King'.
