The Makeup For The Latest 'Walking Dead' Victims Is Seriously Gory

SERIOUSLY GUYS. SPOILERS AHEAD

Chances are you've had a big weekend. You probably aren't feeling up to much except watching Netflix, drinking cuppas and still rubbing fake blood off your face. Anything but look at the hyper-realistic behind-the-scenes photos of 'The Walking Dead's' makeup work.

TWD executive producer Greg Nicotero posted some to his Instagram account, showing the injuries sustained by poor sod Glenn, and Abraham. It's Glenn death that's hit fans the most.

Robert Kirkman, who created the comic book, explained why his death was essential: "...while we do try to change things up to keep things interesting for the audience, and for me, this is one that there's so much that comes from Rick, there's so much with Negan because that character is someone that he killed, and definitely Maggie is someone that kind of gets put on the trajectory that affects a great number of stories and a great number of characters moving forward."

Here is the moment Glenn gets his head smashed in.

Other photos show actor Michael Cudlitz's head wounded by gashes that expose his brain - a result of Negan also striking Lucille across his character Abraham's head.

Another shows his completely mashed-up skull. It's the worse of the two by a country mile.

Cudlitz spoke to ComicBook.com recently about Abraham's death, saying: "I do think that Abraham did definitely stand up and literally [say] with a 'fuck you, take me'. That's him sacrificing himself for the group to protect Sasha, because he feels like that is what needs to be done. He would give his life to protect anyone in this group obviously.

"As anyone, if you have children, it's the same feeling. I think he feels that he had taken care of these people for a very long time and you are willing to sacrifice yourself for your children. It's not demeaning anyone else in any way, it's just saying the love he has for this group is the same as a parent to their kids, and he's literally willing to die for his brother. He has become a soldier in arms with all of these other people, and he is literally willing to give the ultimate sacrifice."
