A Chef Managed To Lose Almost Seven Stone On The Pizza Diet

It's January. The month we're all supposed to stop eating shit, go to the gym and sort out our lives. But there's always temptation, and pizza is one of the biggest. Well, fear not, the pizza diet is a thing and it fucking works.

Pasqual, a New York chef, managed to lose 100lbs (almost seven stone) in just over a year by eating a 12-inch margherita pizza for lunch every day.

It wasn't all pizza-eating that lost him the weight though, he also cut out sweets, fizzy drinks and started kickboxing a few times a week.

"Do not take the diet pills, the magic powders etc. fresh food is your medicine," claimed Pasquale, head chef at Ribalta pizzeria in New York's East Village.

The chef turned to pizza after doctors told him he would likely have a heart attack if he didn't lose weight. He's since dropped from 370lbs (26st 4lbs) to 276lbs (19st 7lbs).

Obviously, it's not the kind of pizza you'd buy in a takeaway after a night out. The dough is made without butter just water, flour, yeast and salt and the only toppings are healthy too. He uses fresh tomato sauce, a bit of mozzarella cheese, and basil. No pepperoni or spiced beef.

"It let's you feel satisfied, and because it's only 540 to 570 calories, it's a perfect and fast solution for a lunch or dinner," Pasquale explained.

"When you eat a pizza, you don't need anything else," he added.

I'm on the pizza diet from this moment on.
