No, she didn't wake up in Germany following a booze-fuelled night out. In fact, she picked up her accent in her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
Meet Tracey Peace. She is 43-years-old and suffers from Foreign Accent Syndrome. Put simply, her accent changed dramatically when she had to learn to talk again as a consequence of two strokes that she had back in 2012.

Peace woke up from the second coma completely unable to speak. However, after regular speech therapy, she began to learn how to communicate verbally once more.
Although she mastered being able to speak again, she picked up a strange European accent. What must be a hugely frustrating situation, some days Peace still wakes up without being able to form a sentence.
