It's Scarlett Johansson's birthday today and it begs only one question: just how rich is she?
Personally, I associate the actress with low-key, indie films. Lost in Translation, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, etc. You forget (or I did) that she's a member of the Marvel domination of superhero cinema. What's more, it has made her the highest-paid actress in the world.
Her current net worth stands at $80 million (£64.4m), according to Forbes, and earnings made last year came to a total $35.5 million (£28.6m) - $20 million (£16m) of which came from her role as Black Widow in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

This is a Stark change from the £400,000 she got for Iron Man 2. I mean, it's still big to us but mere loose coppers to someone whose basic income is more than £10 million per film.
Johansson has also been linked to various companies like SodaStream and Dolce and Gabbana for an undisclosed amount, which is street for "horrendously obscene amount of money that if it was ever revealed to the general public would start a working class uprising and the eventual massacre of the entire capitalist elite".
I'd love to say things are slowing down for Scarlett but they're really not. She's set to turn in $17.5 million (£14m) for Ghost in the Shell next year, as well as not-yet-known sums for her own Black Widow film and a biopic of Ella Fitzgerald.
