Climate Change: A Look At The Causes And Effects On Our Planet

Financial recession, alien invasion, another season of The Big Bang Theory. These are probably among your greatest fears when it comes to our immediate future. But you would be ignoring the biggest disruptive crisis facing the planet. Climate change is real. It has been developing for decades and the scariest thing is that we've let it happen.

The month of September 2016 was the warmest September since records began, according to NASA. You're probably thinking that's a good thing: more sunshine, more partying, less clothes. Unfortunately, that's not really the case. Temperatures, carbon dioxide quantities and sea levels are all rising as a result of a shocking, man-made, fossil-fuel footprint on Earth. The human race is devastating the world in which we live, having spent more than a century repeatedly smashing the self-destruct button.

Preventing climate change is something we should all be passionate about. That's why we're excited to announce we've partnered with National Geographic to live stream Leonardo DiCaprio and Fisher Stevens' environmental film, Before The Flood, both on LADbible's Facebook page and LADbible.com on Sunday 30th October at 9pm GMT.

The documentary will probably make you think, likely shock you a bit and get you eager to make a difference. We should be doing something for our generation and the generations to come. To increase awareness, we are also launching our Climate Change campaign to accompany Before The Flood. We've put together a range of articles to drum up a bit of a debate and cut to the heart of the key issues. We can actually help save the planet. Let's do something about it.
