Love him or loathe him, David Cameron has a seriously hard job. But have you ever wondered just how much it pays to be one of the most powerful people in the world?

The Conservative leader is currently the sixth-highest paid leader in the world. He brings home a £142,500 salary, which includes his MP salary of £67,060.

What is pretty shocking is that there are more than 300 senior officials from publicly funded bodies who are paid more than the Prime Minister himself.

There are 319 officials taking home more than £150,000 a year - eight of those are paid more than £300,000, according to The Guardian.

Obviously, that is not the only money Dave has coming in.

Since moving into 10 Downing Street back in 2010, Cameron has been letting out his luxury home in Notting Hill.

With similar properties being rented out in the area for around £1,750 per week, it's estimated that the PM has raked in about £500,000 in rent since being elected.

In an event in Ipswich last year, he said:

"There's no secret about my status. I am paid very handsomely as your Prime Minister and that's my main source of income, and I have a house I used to live in before I moved into Downing Street and I rent that out and I get income from that.

"I don't have other sources of income."

Do you think that's a fair wage for someone in his position? Let us know in the comments.
