Take A Look Inside Mike Tyson's Abandoned Ohio Mansion

On March 6, 1985, an 18-year-old Mike Tyson stepped into the ring in Albany, New York, to defeat Hector Mercedes in a first round knockout.

Of Tyson's first 28 fights, 26 of them were won by knockout which got the world talking about this powerhouse of a heavyweight taking the boxing world by storm.

On November 22, 1986, his first title fight against Trevor Berbick ended in a second round TKO, meaning Tyson, at just 20 years and four months old, was the youngest ever heavyweight champion in history.

Fame and fortune quickly came Iron Mike's way but after the death of father-figure and mentor Gus D'Amato in 1985, his life spiralled out of control.

Following his 1992 rape conviction, Tyson was forced to sell his mansion in Southington, Ohio, which he'd bought and lived in throughout the 80s.

Bought by a TV marketer for $1.3 million, the buyer never actually moved in after being jailed for money laundering and so the house sat vacant for years.

Now totally abandoned, that mansion is a relic of a different time, when Tyson was simply the best boxer in the world, not the enigmatic figure with a troubled past we all know today.

Photographer and urban explorer Johnny Joo stumbled across the abandoned mansion and couldn't help but trespass onto the property to take a look inside.

The images he managed to capture are amazing...

Iron Mike now resides in Seven Hills, Nevada, presumably in a house much nicer than this now he has rebuilt his career with a one-man touring show and several acting cameos.
