Ever since residents of Imber, Wiltshire, were evacuated during the Second World War, the town has been deserted.
In December 1943, the 152 inhabitants were told the village was to be used as an exercise area for US troops preparing for the D-Day landings. They were given just 47 days' notice to leave their homes and were told they'd never be able to return.
The village is now used as a training site for the Ministry of Defence and was opened to the public for the bank holiday weekend.
