Teacher Responds After Being Criticised Online For What She Wears To Work

Hated on for having killer curves?

I'm sorry to say that, even in 2016, professional women are still getting told what they can and can't wear because of it how it makes others feel or behave.

A teaching assistant in the States (a role known as a paraprofessional), Patrice Brown, from Atlanta, has retaliated to the criticism she received after sharing some images of herself at work on her Instagram page.

Many have claimed that her attire isn't appropriate for her line of work, while others couldn't give a shit what she wears to work.

Brown, who works with Year Five pupils, posted selfies on her Instagram. It didn't take long before people started embedding the hashtag #TeacherBae within their comments and suggesting that they would have paid more attention in school if they had her as their teacher back in the day.

As her popularity grew, so did the criticism. Soon, the internet was split as to whether Brown should be teaching children in tight-fitted clothing.

The sensible lot - in my eyes - reminded those who disapproved that they should judge her teaching ability and not her dress sense.

In case the haters have completely scrolled past the images showing off her more than capable teaching ability, here's proof.

Since the images of Brown started circulating social media pages, she has adjusted her Instagram settings to private.

"I just wish they would respect me and focus on the positive and what truly matters - which is educating the children of the future generations and providing and caring for them," she told Daily Dot when discussing the criticism.

I couldn't have said it better myself.
