Everyone knows you can't smoke on a plane. In fact, they've all been smoke-free since the end of the 90s. So why do they still have ashtrays in the toilets?
I know what you're thinking: "Well, they were made BEFORE the 90s. Obviously."
Well, my myth-busting friend. Take a seat. Because you're wrong. You forgot one teeny thing: Planes made after the ban still have them.

Yeah, exactly.
But why? Well, because there are always going to be rule breaking dicks who light up in the toilet.

Professor Dick Karp explained the reason on Q&A website Quora: "The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) doesn't want them to put the cigarette in the waste disposal bin where there is a risk that it could start a fire.
"Waste disposal bins on planes have their own sensor and automatic fire extinguisher as an additional form of backup protection."
So there you have it. On behalf of smokers all over the globe - shame. Shame on you, rule-breaking smokers.
