22 people were killed last night in Bangladesh after being held hostage during a 12 hour long siege.
It is believed that members of the Islamic State were responsible for the siege in a Bangladesh cafe, and that there were between six and ten attackers.
The siege inside the Holey Artisan Bakery came to an end when Bangladeshi troops stormed the cafe, killing six of the gunmen and arresting another.

Fortunately troops were able to rescue 13 hostages.
According to the BBC, the Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said: "It was an extremely heinous act. What kind of Muslims are these people? They don't have any religion. My government is determined to root out terrorism and militancy from Bangladesh."

The BBC also reported that the militants had 'brutally' attacked hostages and tortured anyone who was unable to recite the Koran.
This is awful. Our thoughts go out to all those involved.
