There is bad news coming out of Taiwan this morning after a tourist coach crashed and burst into flames, killing 'at least 26 tourists'.

China News Service has reported the horrifying number of deaths as pictures of the coach up in flames have circulated on social media. The horrifying images show men attempting to break into the bus, while plumes of thick, black smoke pour out of the vehicle.

The coach was on its way down an airport expressway in the Taoyuan region at around 1pm local time. Reports say that it crashed into a railing and then burst into flames.

The exact number of casualties and the reason behind the crash in the first place are yet to be determined.

Many of those on board the bus are believed to be from northeast China's Liaoning Province, the Mirror reports.

Taiwan's China Times newspaper has claimed that no-one made it off the bus alive.

Our thoughts go out to everyone involved in the accident.
