Caitlyn Jenner Has Transphobic Abuse Hurled At Her At LGBT Awards Night

Caitlyn Jenner, formerly Bruce Jenner, had transphobic abuse hurled at her after the LGBT Awards in London on Friday night.

The decathlete turned reality star, who completed sex reassignment surgery earlier this year in January, was shouted at by a photographer who said: "Oi Bruce, get your dick out," the Daily Mail reports.

Police are now investigating the incident they're calling a "hate crime". Someone also reportedly threw something at her while the comments were made.

Jenner was attending the ceremony where she won the Loud And Proud trophy due to her transformation that started in 2015 after she publicly discussed her gender transition.

"Caitlyn had an amazing night and when she won her award the room went crazy," a source reportedly told The Sun, per the Daily Mail. "She'd had such a wonderful time but as she went to leave the whole atmosphere changed.

"Someone shouted to her, 'Oi, Bruce, get your dick out'. Then someone else threw something at her. It was horrible."

Police were called to the address following the incident on Friday night.

"Officers attended and spoke to one of the organisers who alleged that a photographer had verbally abused a woman and a man as they were leaving the event," a Metropolitan Police spokesman said. "No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing."

Jenner, a gold-medal winning decathlete for USA, is currently promoting her book The Secrets Of My Life, in which she talks about the confusion she had growing up, her triumphs as Bruce, and eventually her transition into a woman.

Jenner said in 2015 she had suffered with gender dysphoria since her youth and that she took hormone replacement therapy up until the 90s when a relationship with Kris Jenner began to get serious.

Kris knew of her partner's desire to cross dress, though asked if she (then he) would refrain from doing it while in each other's company. The lack of communication about this, as well as the issues surrounding it, led to their split in 2015.

After the formal ending of the relationship Jenner came out as a trans woman in a 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer.

She then underwent plastic surgery and sex reassignment and identified as asexual.
