There's a fair few things that need to be checked off a list when going on holiday.
Make sure you've got your best Primark shorts, do not forget your passport, pack your sun cream and wear your straw trilby to the airport, despite the fact you're still in the rainy UK.
Making sure that you've booked your flights from the correct airport, in the correct country, isn't usually included on that list.

26-year-old Richella had organised a trip to Las Vegas for her boyfriend's 30th birthday, which undoubtedly would have been a brilliant trip.

However, when they arrived at Birmingham Airport in the West Midlands, they were left devastated when they were told their £1,200 flight was departing from Birmingham Alabama.
They're a fair distance apart.
Unfortunately the pair couldn't get a refund on their flights, so went to Amsterdam instead.

"When we turned up at the airport we couldn't find the flight details anywhere. We approached one of the desks and they told us our holiday was booked from Alabama. I was gutted - more for my partner than for me. She had told everyone and she was really upset. She was distraught and we didn't know what to do," Ben said of the mishap.
Richella had planned the trip as a surprise for Ben, which she kept a secret for a year until she revealed the present at a party.
"It's a common mistake apparently - but if that's the case the company's website should make it more clear. It's embarrassing because everyone was really happy for us. We are just going to have to start saving from scratch again," Ben said.
Gutted.
