It was part of an animal rights campaign.

I'm not going to pretend I understand the technical world of hacking and I.T, but I will concede that it is rather interesting.

I'm guessing the majority of us won't understand hacking - most of us struggle with smart phones to be honest - but to others it appears to be really easy.

So easy, in fact, that a 15-year-old managed to hack a whole host of websites as part of a campaign against animal rights abuses.

The teenager - who can't be named - is currently appearing in Plymouth youth court where he has admitted to three charges of performing an act to hinder access to a programme under the Computer Misuse Act 1990.

The boy, who is now 16, denied two further allegations of sending bomb hoaxes to American Airlines and Delta Air Lines.

Locations the teenager targeted included Africa, Asia, Europe and North America, hacking SeaWorld Orlando in Florida and a town in Japan where dolphin hunting takes place, Plymouth youth court was told.

The schoolboy from Devon is basically being charged for overwhelming a website with traffic, often taking it offline.

Diane Baker, the judge of the trial, informed the court the defendant was 'a very intelligent young man' who could follow the case 'far better than a lot of people in this courtroom', according to The Guardian.

He also managed to hack the Cornwall Police website. If Hot Fuzz is anything to go by, their homepage is presumably just reports about swans.
