A while ago we were warned of the dangers of super-gonorrhoea, which was sweeping across the UK.
Mainly in the north-west, people were diagnosed with the strong strand of the STD.
It has now been revealed which ten cities in the UK are the most vulnerable to the disease.

Unfortunately, it's my beloved city of Liverpool that is the biggest hot spot for super-gonorrhoea.
According to the Mirror, doctors in Liverpool prescribe more of the antibiotic called azithromycin which is paired with ceftriaxone to treat gonorrhoea.
The two drugs together are the last remaining antibiotics to treat the disease as the bacteria is now resistant to others.

Super-gonorrhoea is highly resistant to azithromycin, meaning to get rid of it ceftriaxone is the most reliable treatment.
In Liverpool, azithromycin was prescribed 815 times to a population of 1.2m people.
This works out at 68.1 prescriptions for every 100,000 people.
The list in full is, referring to amount of prescriptions handed out for every 100,000 people is:

Liverpool, 68.1
Durham Dales, Easington and Sedgefield, 64.4
Sunderland, 56.1
Newcastle Gateshead, 56.1

Northern, Eastern and Western Devon, 52.1
Cumbria, 48.1
St Helens, 44.0

North Tyneside, 33.5
If the strain is to become widespread across the UK, ceftriaxone would be the only drug available to treat super-gonorrhoea.
The Public Health England (PHE) previously sent a warning out about the strain of the highly resistant sexually transmitted infection that is highly resistant, specifically in Leeds.
