This Is Allegedly The Reason For The HMP Birmingham Riots

Sounds like 'Breaking Bad'.

Over the past few days news has been coming thick and fast regarding HMP Birmingham, where horrific riots have occurred.

Pictures were taken of inmates seemingly having a right good time as the riots were ongoing, and now it seems the real reason behind why it occurred is being reported.

According to The Sun, the riot was started by an underworld gang who'd found themselves in a dispute over stolen cocaine.

The gang allegedly started the raucous as a distraction so inmates who were paid £1,000 could carry out a personal attack on someone who is believed to have robbed coke.

"He's on remand for robbery and he robbed the wrong person," a prisoner, who contacted the Birmingham Mail, said.

The victim was reportedly stabbed twice in the neck in his cell and is now recovering in hospital.

It does seem like something straight from Breaking Bad, orchestrated by Walter White, but it is now having rather large repercussions as a reported 240 prisoners were moved from the prison.

The Hull prison they've now been moved to is reportedly on the brink of riots, thanks to the nature of the inmates' arrival and overcrowding.
