Obama Has Warned That Earth As We Know It Could Be In Serious Danger

Bad weather in space.

You would be mistaken in thinking that Barack Obama's job at the moment is to sit back and watch the entertainment unfurl as to who will be his successor.

There's no such privilege in the White House, especially with apocalyptic fears on the horizon.

The latest concern is that 'space weather' events - including solar flares, solar energetic particles and geomagnetic disturbances - could have devastating consequences on humanity as we know it.

There's not much of a silver lining I'm afraid. Solar storms, caused by eruptions on the sun's surface, could send solar particles plunging towards Earth, reports Snopes.com.

It's believed that at high altitudes these cosmic rays could be fatal. That's you guys enjoying a commercial flight or those who have the coolest job ever high up in space stations.

But what's really worrying is that a large enough flare could have enough energy to wipe out satellites and electrical grids. If so, we would be forced to live in the dark ages with no power. All of your devices would be as useful as this box.

Astrophysicist Valerie Rapson explained to WNYT why a large solar story could disrupt life on Earth. He said: "Extreme space weather events - those that could significantly degrade critical infrastructure - could disable large portions of the electrical power grid, resulting in cascading failures that would affect key services such as water supply, healthcare, and transportation."

In fear that this devastating scenario could come true, the President of the US wants to prepare his nation's infrastructure for "extreme space weather events." Meanwhile, Britain is doing nothing but getting over preparing for Brexit.

On October 13, Obama gave several government agencies just six months to get their thinking caps on and come up with a plan to predict and prevent these solar events, reports the Daily Star.

So our technological world that we've built could soon be a thing of the past. Imagine that, the wipeout of technology. We'll be telling bedtime stories to our children about 'The Lad Bible days when we used to read our news on multiple screens on apps'. And how 'the storm changed everything'.

Traditional media may well live on but the joys of the internet would be gone. While banter would be missed and never forgotten, life would never be the same again. Come on US government agencies, please don't let this happen.
