There is seldom better a way to spend your down time than crashing onto the settee with a brew and flicking on UKTV Gold to discover there's an 'Only Fools and Horses' marathon underway.
It's an English pastime ingrained into the country's DNA and it was a cultural phenomenon that even Cristiano Ronaldo became swept up in during his time with Manchester United, an ex-girlfriend has revealed.
Actress Gemma Atkinson briefly dated Ronaldo in 2007, just after she had left 'Hollyoaks' and has let slip that their first date wasn't the OTT affair you would come to expect of a Premier League footballer and an actress. Instead, the pair put the kettle on and watched Del Boy fall through an open bar.
Speaking to Manchester based radio station Key 103, Atkinson said:
"We went to my house and drank cups of tea and watched Only Fools and Horses. Genuinely. I don't know if he's into it now but he seemed to enjoy it."
If there's one thing we absolutely need to hear, it's the three time Ballon d'Or winner doing his impression of Boycey's iconic laugh.
