NFL Star Accidentally Runs Over And Kills His Three-Year-Old Daughter

An NFL star has accidentally killed his three-year-old daughter after moving his truck.

Police have revealed that Todd Heap, 37, a former NFL player, was driving the truck forward while on his own driveway at home in Arizona. His daughter was struck by the vehicle.

She was then taken to a local hospital where she was tragically pronounced dead. Police has said that there were no suspicious circumstances and Mr Heap showed no signs of impairment.

The accident took place in the city of Mesa on Friday at 16:00 local time (23:00 GMT).

Detectives are continuing the investigation.

Mr Heap was a tight end who played for the Baltimore Ravens and Arizona Cardinals. He was also a two-time Pro-Bowler.

He attended Arizona State University and was a first-round draft pick in 2001 for the Baltimore Ravens. He played there for 10 seasons and became the team's all-time leader in touchdown catches.

He played two seasons for the Arizona Cardinals and retired in 2013. He recorded 499 receptions and 42 touchdowns during his career.

Mr Heap has been an active member of his community by raising money for sick and disadvantaged children through a charitable foundation, opening the Todd Heap Family Pediatric Center in Baltimore in 2010.
