Disappeared in the locker room.

It was reported earlier that Tom Brady had found his stolen Super Bowl jersey after losing it in the locker room post-game.

NESN revealed that the jersey had been nabbed by a Patriots equipment manager to avoid exactly the type of thing that happened after winning Super Bowl LI last night.

Then hours later it was reaffirmed that the NFL legend actually had no idea where it was. The reporter of the original story, sports director Tom Leyden, put down his mix-up to a miscommunication with Patriots employees.

"Despite an early morning report from FOX25 that a Patriots equipment manager secured Tom Brady's Super Bowl-worn jersey, the New England Patriots quarterback said at a press conference Monday that he believes his jersey is still missing," the website revealed.

As if this wasn't blown out of proportion enough, the Lieutenant Governor of Texas Dan Patrick has beseached the Texas Rangers to help find the five-time Super Bowl winning player's jersey. The Texas Rangers not as in the team, but the law enforcement agency. For real.

Dan Patrick said in a statement to ABC 13: "In Texas we place a very high value on hospitality and football. Tom Brady's jersey has great historical value and is already being called 'the most valuable NFL collectable ever.' It will likely go into the Hall of Fame one day. It is important that history does not record that it was stolen in Texas. I've called Colonel Steve McCraw to ask that the Texas Rangers work with the Houston Police Department on this case."

"I'm a Texans and Cowboys fan first, but the unquestionable success of the Super Bowl in Houston last night was a big win for our entire state and I don't want anything to mar that victory. Whoever took this jersey should turn it in. The Texas Rangers are on the trail."

Is this all a bit over the top, even factoring in the sentimental value it holds with Brady? I guess not.

I wonder how many bricks the thief is shitting them right now.
