UFC Fighter Has Most British Response To Winning His Debut Fight

Can't blame him.

Being a professional fighter obviously has its cons - being repeatedly punched in the face, for example.

So, after intense training, strict dieting and grueling punishment on the body, after a fight you'd expect that competitors in the UFC would immerse themselves in the things they've been missing out on.

English MMA fighter Mark Godbeer, who made his debut in the UFC octagon this weekend, made it clear in his post match interview that he'd be having a few guilty pleasures - giving the most British reaction to a victory ever.

Having won his bout against Daniel Spitz at UFC 209, all he wanted was a beer.

"I'm going to keep working & hopefully entertaining you guys," he said. "What would I like to see? A pint of lager!"

I for one think he should get at least eight.

He took to Twitter to show off that he was relaxing with a well earned can of Budweiser in a hot tub.

Most eyes were focused on another fight this weekend, as the intense feud between David Haye and Tony Bellew came to a head.

Bellew entered the ring as the underdog, with odds suggesting an early knock out from Haye was the way the fight would go. On the contrary, the Scouse boxer managed to get the upper-hand over his experienced opponent in the latter rounds, eventually flooring him for the win in the 11th.

Earlier in the fight Bellew had Haye backing up against the ropes after a flurry of punches had him reeling, but there was a point that seemed to change the entire contest.

Haye took a pretty awkward step on his right foot in the sixth round, injuring his ankle, leaving him one legged for the remainder of the bout. The up close footage of the injury looks pretty grim.

Immediately after his ankle buckles, Haye jumps back and looks down to see if there's any real damage done.

He was rushed to hospital after the fight ended to have his Achilles treated, but doctors later chose not to operate.

Prior to the fight, during the months of anticipation, Bellew said that should he win he'd offer Haye the chance at a rematch, so we could be seeing the same fight again in the future.
