He wasn't impressed.

A woman got a dressing down by a Beefeater after she allegedly threw a glove towards one of the Queen's Guards.

A clip, uploaded to YouTube and shared on Reddit, shows the woman being told: "He's not here for the public to make fun of."

It's believed the woman threw her glove towards the guard to see if he would move and hand back the glove. As you can see in the video below, he didn't.

The man who filmed the clip can be heard saying: "There's a standoff. Who's going to get the glove first?"

And as the woman waits, she's approached by the Beefeater, who asks: "Did you just throw your glove over?"

The woman reply is mostly drowned out by background noise. But the Beefeater can be heard asking the woman why.

"Why did you do that? The army's here to protect the crown jewels. He's not here for the public to make fun of," he says.

The Beefeater continues: "He's a soldier, he serves his country, he deserves to be treated with a little respect.

"Throwing your gloves at him isn't going to work, is it, really?"

He then walks over, retrieves the glove and passes it to the woman. Who picks up her luggage and shuffles away, looking pretty embarrassed about the whole thing.

The exchange, which appears to have been filmed earlier this year, has recently become the subject of new attention online after being shared on Reddit, where users couldn't believe the 'rudeness' and 'disrespectful' nature of the tourist.

The Queen's Guards, who are known for their furry hats, stand outside a number of royal buildings, including Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London.

The Guards are known for their steely resolve when on duty, and the temptation to annoy them or try to grab their attention is too much for many tourists.
