We usually associate injuries in the bedroom with young couples getting a bit ahead of themselves, but Steven Horden, 37, and his girlfriend, Kiera Diss, 38, had actually been trying for a baby.
Steven, contrary to the romantic idea we have of baby-making, went into creating human life like he was Mandingo.

It landed him in Medway hospital, Kent, for four nights last month, during which he had a catheter fitted into his penis and underwent a compulsory circumcision.

"It's nasty," he told the Mirror. "The whole penis is bruised and bent and horrible.

"It was a little bit too frantic.
"I think we overdid a little.
"The doctors told me that only time will tell if I can still have children."
Steven also described the effect the injury is having on his girlfriend Kiera.

"[She's] gutted. We can't have sex for six weeks. We did try last night but it was too painful," Steven said.

Kiera, who said the two had been trying for a baby for the last six months, talked about the vicious moment.

"Steve was in a lot of pain. I was in shock, I never imagined something like this would happen.
"I feel a bit guilty as I think it was my thrusting backwards that was half the cause of it.
"But I stuck by him, helped him clean up, use the toilet, I've been there all the way."
