EU Statistics Find That Scotland Is Actually Better Than England

They'll never take their freedom.

If there's any rivalry that's more ferocious than the north/south divide, it's the divide between Scotland and England.

The Scots are proud folk, priding themselves on their burning patriotism and fantastic currency rate. It's currently £1 to the pound. The English, however, seem to hate their homeland, but would never concede that it's worse than Scotland.

It'd be impossible to settle that debate, as it'd end with a ginger, kilt wearing, beer swilling Scotsman having a bald, middle-aged, beer bellied, bulldog owning Brit in a headlock. Or any other wild and absolutely spot on inaccurate stereotypes you can think of.

However, a decision has apparently already been made regarding which is better and The Land of the Brave came out on top.

A study funded by Social Progress Imperative found that, using EU statistics, Scotland has a better quality of life; no matter what Mark Renton tells you.

The study found that north of the border had better education, more tolerant attitudes towards minorities and had more personal freedoms (of course).

Of the countries making up the United Kingdom, the study found that Scotland had the highest quality of life, scoring 74 out of 100. Wales was a few places behind with a score of 72, whereas England and Northern Ireland had 72.7 and 73.2 respectively.

The places with the worst quality of life, according to EU statistics was Romania and Bulgaria. Scandinavian countries like Sweden, Denmark and Finland made up the top of the list.
