Porsche Owner Gives Dead-Pan Commentary After 'Pride And Joy' Is Written Off

"Well, that's the end of the Porsche."

If someone had smashed into your limited edition Porsche, of which there were only 19 ever made, you'd be pretty hacked off.

Insurance companies advise that, in the event of a crash, you should take pictures of the vehicles involved for use later on. In the case of Steven Parr, we were treated to a video with some dead-pan commentary.

The video shows the aftermath of a Ford Ka that has crashed into his Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet 996 Generation 2 (snappy title), thankfully all parties are OK.

Seconds after the crash, which happened on Saturday June 10 in Nottingham, Steven whipped out his mobile phone.

He begins: "Well, that's the end of the Porsche.

"I swerved to get out of the way and he crashed straight into the side of me."

After checking that the driver of the red Ford is well, he proceeds to rub in exactly what damage he has caused.

"You alright?" he asks. "You wrote off my pride and joy may, you could have killed me.

"It was a Porsche 911, now it's written off."

Clearly frustrated, Steven walks around the side of this car and assess the damage from all angles - implying also that his isn't the only vehicle that the irresponsible driver hit.

"He hit another car before he hit me," he adds. "He clipped somebody and then went straight into the side of me. We ditched it in here [in somebody's driveway], to get out the way, and he still hit me."

Steven, however, suggests that the road is notorious for accidents.

He said: "The road is terrible and we have seen crashes happen on it all the time.

"If we had been hit head on we might not be here to tell the story today as the engine is at the back of the car so there would have been nothing to protect us.

"My car is most likely going to be written off which is awful news for me especially as I can't replace it.

"At least we're still alive though."

Nottinghamshire Police confirmed that the drivers and passengers suffered minor injuries but nobody was arrested.

Richard MacRae, an independent councillor for Stapleford, said: "There has always been problems on that road.

"I have had meeting with the residents about this before and everyone agrees that the road is a problem especially because of the amount of people who park along it.

"People park on the grass verges because there is not enough space on the road, the road is also lacking safe crossings which makes it a nightmare to cross and I know many people who struggle to get across is safely.

"We have been trying to sort this for ages."

Car crashes, and in particular where the blame lies, are often cause of much controversy and disagreement.

Whereas this matter seems pretty solid as to who is allegedly at fault, according to Steven's commentary, questions were recently raised when a child ran out in front of a car in Leicester.

Some believe that the driver should have been paying more attention, whereas others, including 'Mr Loophole', Nick Freeman, one of Britain's top motor offence laywers, say that the blame lies solely with the mother who was not looking after her child.
