Mum Shows Son Swarmed By Flies To Get Housing Association To React

No flies on her.

One mum, so sick of the infestation of flies in her family home, has shared pictures of the swarm to prompt action from the housing association who run the property.

Jamieleigh Dale, 19, has even shown a picture of her three-year-old son asleep with flies around his mouth and eyes.

She claims that he chokes himself awake as the flies land in his mouth.

The mum-of-two has lived in the house for 10 months, and said that the fly problem has only got worse during the summer months.

Jamieleigh, of Warrington, Lancashire, said: "I couldn't believe it when I saw the flies crawl out of my child's mouth. It's disgusting.

"Some nights he wakes up choking so I spend nights sat up with him paranoid that I will not hear him.

"Stephen has asthma and fly spray makes it worst. And he has been off school for the last three weeks with sickness and diarrhoea."

Despite recent complaints, ever since the small family moved in to the social housing property in October, the problem has continued to progressively get worse.

"It's terrible," Jamieleigh added. "You got out for half-an-hour then come back to fly poo everywhere.

"It drives you absolutely nuts. Every time you sit down there are 10 flies on your arms and legs.

"if the kids are eating, they are crawling all over their dinner and swimming in their drinks.

"They are crawling all over you while you lie in bed at night.

"My kids' health is being affected by this - they are waking up eight to nine times a night."

And she's not the only one who has made a complaint, neighbour Tonya McNeil is also angry about the way this has been left.

The properties on Warrington's Edgewater Park had a similar issue in high fly numbers last summer. Eventually both the council and the Environment Agency stepped in to investigate. Yet the problem remains.

Andrea Howarth, director of housing at Plus Dane, the people behind the properties, said: "We are aware of the issues faced by our tenants again this summer and are equally concerned about how the matter can be resolved.

"A number of actions have already been taken by relevant parties but they do not seem to have resolved the problem.

"We are continuing to work to push for further action that will see the issue resolved for our tenants and will keep them fully informed as to what is being proposed to resolve the matter."

The scene would be one of heaven to pest controllers who love a good record-breaker to put in their books, or a story to tell down the local boozer.

Aussie, Noel Parminter, got excited when he was called to the worst infestation of spiders in his 16-year-long career.

The huntsman spider he found was one-foot long, and there were tens of tiny arachnids running around the attic of home in Queensland, Australia.

Tackling these sorts of pests is not for any faint of heart.
