It's The Hottest Day Of The Year And Warmer Than The Mediterranean

Why are you not in a beer garden?!

Today is set to be the hottest day of the year with temperatures soaring to highs of 24C. And I'm sat here in the office. I swear, if you're off work and you're not in a beer garden or organising a BBQ, I'm personally offended. Do it for me.

The highs of 24C (75F) are confined to London and the South East, but in Manchester it's warm as hell. I know this because the sun's cooking my arm as we speak.

The Mirror reports that forecasters claim today's temperatures will beat the 22.1C set in Gravesend, Kent, on March 30.

Prepare yourself to see more of your dad's chest as he's probably already whipped his shirt off and is sitting in the back garden. They also reckon that the hot weather will keep going for a bit, and we could see 30C days in the next few months.

Forecasters predict that the temperature between April and June will be above average.

Bad news for us goths.

And just in case you fancy even more good news (who wouldn't?!) rainfall is expected to be lower than average. So it's going to be warmer and dryer.

The Met forecast says: "For April-June, above-average temperatures are more probable than below-average.

"The probability of the warmest category of temperatures is 45%. The coldest category is 5%.

"Sea surface temperatures around the UK are above normal. This increases the chances of warmer-than-average temperatures through the period."

The best bit about the hot weather has to be the odd behaviour that's displayed by us Brits.

For example...

This bloke was on his lunch break in London's Hyde Park. He tried to keep the sun from his head by using a sandwich bag as a sun hat during the hot weather. If that's not a sign of absolute genius I don't know what is.
