Seven Students Dress Up As Alton Tower Crash Victims In Terribly Poor Taste

Not the brightest of ideas.

Seven students epitomised the poorest taste of humour after they went to bars dressed as crash victims from the Smiler accident at Alton Towers on June 2, 2015, when two carriages collided on the popular ride and left many people with life-altering injuries.

The '7 legged pub crawl' was organised by the university's fundraising group Karnival, with one section reportedly naming themselves '7 Legless', according to The Sun. The seven of them went gallivanting about with fake limbs and wearing fancy dress safety equipment.

Not very funny at all.

Four years earlier, another pub crawl organised by Karnival saw many of the Nottingham Uni graduates dress up as Jimmy Savile.

Joe Pugh, who was involved in the crash and has suffered life-changing injuries, tweeted his disgust.

Many people tweeted him back to agree that it was in terrible taste.

Two young women each lost a leg in the incident.

Alton Towers owners Merlin Entertainment were fined £5 million after it was recently found the theme park was at fault, with the 52 miles per hour crash being a case of human error. However, the compensation the individuals received will never make up for the harm and suffering caused.

The seven Nottingham University students will now have a lifetime of realising just how stupid, inconsiderate and lacking in tact their joke was.
