Stephen Hawking Reveals Who He's Voting For Ahead Of General Election

"Another five years of Conservative government would be a disaster."

Stephen Hawking is a man you may have heard of. He's that guy who's well-known for being dead, dead smart.

Usually you can find Hawking commenting on physics, space and all that type of stuff, but here he's taken time out of his busy schedule to comment on the upcoming general election.

Currently Labour's Jeremy Corbyn is going head-to-head with the Conservatives' Theresa May, with experts predicting a closer result than first thought.

Corbyn has received support from the world of grime to help with his campaign, and has called out May on numerous occasions - particularly during her recent absence from a BBC debate.

One man who won't be easily influenced by these elements of the campaign, however, is Hawking.

He has backed Labour, the Independent reports, and believes that you should, too. Of course, a lot of people have seen this as a 'sign'.

"I'm voting Labour because another five years of Conservative government would be a disaster for the NHS, the police and other public services," he said to Cambridge MP Daniel Zeichner.

Twitter reacted, of course.

Despite his vote going to the Labour party, he's not a particularly big fan of Corbyn.

He said: "I regard Corbyn as a disaster. His heart is in the right place and many of his policies are sound, but he has allowed himself to be portrayed as a left-wing extremist."

Remember to vote on 8 June, 2017.
