Worth a shot.

What can you get for £2? Eight Freddos, a lucky dip for the Lotto or two Pot Noodles from my corner shop. While they are all very good choices, but would you not rather use that two quid on a chance of winning this amazing mansion.

The owner of this house, Dunstan Low, is having a bit of trouble shifting it, so he's hoping to reach the asking price by selling raffle tickets for two pound a pop. It's worth £650,000, so someone will be picking up a bargain.

The six-bedroom house has been refurbished by Dunstan and comes with a brand-new kitchen and massive bathroom. The house, which is situated in the village of Melling, dates back to 1797 so it's probably got some ghosts thrown into the mix, and up until 2000 was a hotel.

It features a former ballroom which is 'big enough to park six cars' (weird unit of measurement he's chosen) it also has its own cinema room and en suites for all six bedrooms.

Dunstan bought the house in 2011 for £435,000 but has since fallen on more difficult times and now, if he can't find a buyer, there's a good chance property will be repossessed.

Speaking to the Lancaster Guardian Dunstan said: "I've had a slow down in business over the last five years and so we made the decision to sell the house.

"After talking to many estate agents and quick buy companies, we believe it is in our best interest to take the sale of our property into our own hands, whilst offering someone else the opportunity to own and enjoy the property as their own.

"I'd rather go out fighting than give it back to the banks." Fair enough, mate.

So far £1,500 worth of raffle tickets have been sold, if you want to buy one you can do so here, and he's had a load of interest from all over the world, with one fella even telling him he plans to buy £1000 worth of tickets.

Dunstan and his wife initially put the property on the market for £845,000 but have since relisted it £650,000 - it will remain up for sale until 1 August, which is the closing date for the raffle, and if it gets bought before that date Dunstan had said he will give away the money raised in the raffle as a cash prize.
